April 22: Workin’ the Tease: The Art of Baltimore Burlesque

We are taking the stage at The Lyric Opera house with some of our favorite Baltimore/DC performers for this unprecedented, unbelievable show.  Over 1,000 tickets have already been issues, so it's going to be huge, and super fun.

Workin’ the Tease: The Art of Baltimore Burlesque celebrates the significance of Burlesque in Baltimore’s history. The exhibition will open at The Modell Lyric on April 22nd, 2014. Curated by MICA’s Exhibition Development Seminar, this exhibition features contemporary and historical artifacts in conjunction with a night of burlesque on the opera stage to display the span of Baltimore’s burlesque culture. Workin’ the Tease includes a rare look at the original Globe posters and calling cards that were used to advertise events, as well as one-of-kind performance materials from household names in Baltimore burlesque. The Opening Night performance, "Best of Baltimore", pays homage to burlesque’s roots in the theater and showcases the breadth of Baltimore Burlesque through performers who personify the quirky spirit of the city.
