Coming back from a chilly February, the Weirdo Show is bringing you an evening of exquisite variety entertainment never before seen on stage together! In the true form of the midway, the Weirdo Show this month brings together an amalgamation of curiosities that will take your breath away as you cheer for more! These acts have performed all over the world and we are lucky to have them! Lets meet our performers!
Our headliner this month is returning to our stage and we couldn't be more excited! Stopping through on his US tour, we are proud to welcome back Zamora King! Zamora The Torture King is one of the founders of the modern sideshow revival. He has been called “…an icon in the modern day sideshow community” and “…the godfather of the modern circus sideshow.” Zamora has performed at the largest Halloween event in the world for 17 years in a row. Zamora is the first sideshow performer to headline a show in a Las Vegas casino.
Returning to our stage once again, that vaudevillian man of many talents, Stanley Bothered! Stanley Bothered brings music, banter and comedy to the stage as the self-contained one-man band: The Stanley Bothered Band. Purveyor of surprising and sometimes naughty originals as well as some unexpected covers, Stanley will make you shake your ass while he plays a few too many instruments at once. Stanley normally performs as half of the neo-vaudevillian comedy-musical duo Hot and Bothered, but is fixin’ to prove he can do just fine without the duo’s other half, thank-you-very-much.
We are thrilled to finally have this next performer on our stage! A longtime friend of the Weirdo Show, one of the most influential burlesque performers in the District and beyond, GiGi Holliday! GiGi Holliday is Washington D.C.’s resurgence of glitz, glamour, and allure. Armed with eyelashes and an arsenal of glitter she has enticed audiences with her clever blend of sass and wit. Her presence has graced stages in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New York, Virginia and her native home Washington, D.C. where she was one of the first burlesque performers in 60 years to perform at the historic Howard Theater. GiGi is the founder and producer of Zou Zou Burlesque Revue and Chocolate Lounge: Performers of Color Burlesque/ Variety show and Headmistress of Studio Holliday School of Burlesque. She is proud to be a co-producer of Evil League of Ecdysiasts, Gilded Lily Burlesque (Balt. M.D.) and Naked Girls Reading D.C. The “Chocolate that melts your heart” enjoys the spotlight heating her up and melting her milk chocolate beauty all over the audience.
A performer in the original Weirdo Show at the Palace of Wonders, we are honored to bring to our show the artistry of the bellydance performance of Mavi Clay! Mavi is the blue Maven of Mayhem: a fusion belly dance and fire arts performer known for her compelling presence, dark aesthetic, and mastery of blades. She is a sought after international fusion artist, teaching and performing at festivals, cultural events, circuses, and anywhere there's mayhem to be had.
Our host for this evening is an old friend to the Weirdo Show and certainly no stranger to the bizarre, Swami YoMahmi! Swami YoMahmi presents phenomenal feats of sideshow hilarity using shattered glass, rusty nails, a staple gun, razor blades, bondage, a love of pop culture and a rubber chicken. Even if you've seen sideshow before, you've never seen anything like Swami YoMahmi.
This show is going to be one you do not want to miss!
